Understanding The Danger of An Electrica Shock

Electricity is one of the vital sources of energy that is majorly required in our day to day activities. this electricity can also be dangerous to human health/ Body. Especially when misused or abused.  we use electricity in our residence and also in the industry. we are going to look at the various sections in understanding electric shock. Electrical shocks are likely to occur at any place where electrical energy are been utilized.
  • What's Electrical Shock
  • Process and various ways electric shock can occur
  • Effect of Electrical Shock
  • Steps to avoid or prevent Electrical Shock at home/ Industry
Dangers Of Electrical shock

What's Electrical Shock: Electric shock occurs when a person's body becomes part of an electric circuit, either by directly touching an energized conductor or through contact with something that is energized. The severity of electric shock can vary depending on factors such as the amount of current, the duration of exposure; the path the current takes through the body, and the individual's overall health.

Process And Various Ways Electric Shock Can Occur:

Process of electric shock is mostly cost by poor installations, bad/ faulty electrical Equipment's or machines. Also exposed wiring, and power lines conductors falling on poles to the ground during having Stormy rain down pour. Also exposed wiring, and power lines conductors falling on poles to the ground during having Stormy rain down pour.

The Effect of Electrical Shock  The  Electric Shock As a result of Electric current passing through the body can interfere with the normal functioning of the nervous system and vital organs. The severity of injuries can range from mild tingling sensations or burns to muscle contractions, respiratory distress, cardiac arrest, and even  leading to death of a victim under the influence of an electric shock.

Factors Influencing Severity :

The severity of electric shock injuries depends on several factors including the amount of current (measured in amperes), the voltage (measured in volts), the pathway of the current through the body, the duration of exposure, and individual factors such as overall health and preexisting medical conditions. Electric shock injuries can manifest in various ways:

    1. External burns: Burns may occur at the points where the electric current enters and exits the body.
    2. Internal injuries: Electric current passing through the body can cause internal injuries, including damage to muscles, nerves, and organs.
    3. Cardiac effects: Electric shock can disrupt the heart's normal rhythm, leading to cardiac arrest or other cardiac complications.
    4. Respiratory effects: Electric shock can cause respiratory paralysis or difficulty breathing.
    5. Neurological effects: Electric shock can affect the nervous system, leading to muscle spasms, loss of consciousness, seizures, or neurological damage.

Steps To Avoid or Prevent Electrical Shock at Home/ Industry

Since Electricity is Very dangerous to human Health/ Body there are needs to Install Protect Equipment when Unnecessary fault occurs to prevent electrical shock. And it involves taking safety precautions. The following ways can be use to prevent Electric shock;

  •  As using ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) in wet or damp areas, avoiding contact with electrical appliances or wiring with wet hands,
  • Using insulation and protective equipment when working with electricity, and
  • Ensuring electrical systems are properly installed and maintained
  • Faulty Electrical Equipment Should Replace or Repair if Necessary
  • Ensure Proper Earthing to Electrical machines or Electrical Installations

In summary, electric shock occurs when the body becomes part of an electric circuit, and it can cause a range of injuries depending on factors such as the amount of current, voltage, and duration of exposure. Prevention through safety measures is crucial to avoiding electric shock incidents. And There Should be proper Training on First aid Treatment on an Electric Shock victims
